John McCutcheon: Si and best friend John McCutcheon have been making music together for longer than either of them can remember. They have co-authored hundreds of songs, many of the recorded by John on his five Grammy-nominated family albums. John's many CDs - including his joint album with Si Signs of the Times - can be ordered through the web site.
Cathy Fink and Marcy Marxer: Cathy and Si have been hanging out togther since they met almost 30 years ago. Cathy and Marcy have produced three of Si's CDs (Good Times and Bedtimes, I Have Seen Freedom, Companion), have toured and performed with him. Strictly Country Records: SCR Productions is a sound and production company that specializes in acoustic Americana music, from singer-songwriter to bluegrass, and from acoustic country music to folk and country blues. It also produced Si's "We're Still Here" CD.
Sing Out! Magazine: When Si was 19 and hitchiking around the country looking for folk music, he carried a copy of Sing Out! in his back pocket. This is the magazine for political folk music - and all the other kinds of folks music — in the United States. Each issue offers a CD of the songs in the magazine. Bluegrass Unlimited: Si actually reads two monthly magazines cover to cover - and this is one of them. One of the first articles about the bluegrass roots of Si's music, titled The Man Who Wrote Aragon Mill, appeared in their July 1985 issue - check it out in Si's songbook on this website.

Labor Heritage Foundation: Si is a long-time trustee of the Labor Heritage Foundation, this country's leading organization for labor culture. Be sure to attend their annual Great Labor Arts Exchange in Silver Spring, Maryland each June.
Grassroots Leadership: Si founded Grassroots Leadership in 1980 to do civil rights, labor and community organizing in the South - and he's still working there. It's his day job - as Si once told a reporter, his music is "a hobby that got out of hand."
Jewish Fund for Justice: Si is also the founder of the Jewish Fund for Justice, a national foundation that raises money in the Jewish community and makes grants to support local organizing to eliminate the roots causes of poverty. Twenty years later, Si is still an active board member of this organization which is close to his heart and his heritage.
Changemakers: Si is the chair of this national foundation which seeks to deepen, diversity and democratize philanthropy. Changemakers supports the community-based philanthropies which support democratic social change in the United States. Remember: "Those who pay the fiddler, call the tune."

Not With Our Money!: Not With Our Money! is a network of student and community activists working to end the use of prisons for profit. Its mission is to provide the training, tools and informational resources communities need to hold prison profiteers (particularly corporations that finance the private prison industry) accountable for their actions.
AFM Local 1000: Local 1000 was set up to serve the special needs of touring musicians, particularly those in the "folk" and "acoustic" music fields, most of whom travel to play predominantly "casual" engagements (i.e. short-term, one- or two-day jobs, unlike many orchestra players).
